![]() ![]() GNSS SplittersHave multiple devices but a single outdoor antenna drop? We have developed 2 GNSS compatible antenna splitters with flexible powering options. OverviewThe GPS14x series is a 1 to 4 RF Splitter for 1550-1615Mhz (GNSS L1) frequencies that can power an upstream GNSS antenna and be powered by downstream ports and/or a USB Aux input. They are built around high quality RF splitter ICs from Mini-Circuits. Antenna SupportA 5V DC output is provided to the upstream port for powering an external antenna with an integrated LNA/SAW. Signal LevelsThe downstream ports on the GPS140 each have a -7dB loss compared to the upstream input where as the GPS144 includes amplifiers on each output resulting in an overall +13dB gain compared to the upstream input. We recommend the GPS144 for long cable runs or when more than 1 splitter are chained together, otherwise amplification is usually not necessary as a powered antenna has its own amplification. PoweringThe GPS14x series support power inputs from any or all of the downstream ports and/or an auxiliary USB port. All RF inputs are DC blocked from each other allowing some ports to be powered and others not. The splitter requires power on at least 1 input but any or all combinations of inputs are supported at once. To draw power from a downstream port, at least 2.5V is required and up to 5V supported. A 5V boost regulator is included to provide 5V to the upstream port even if the power inputs are lower voltage. The USB Aux input is optional if power is provided on at least 1 downstream port. CustomizationNeed a custom solution? The GPS140/GPS144 can be modified to bypass or disable the 5V regulator, disconnect any of the downstream power inputs, or provide a 200 Ohm dummy loads on any of the inputs. Contact us to discuss your customization needs. Hardware![]() |
